Behind the scenes
The creation of all these masterpieces is an exciting journey. A piece of cloth goes through several steps before it reaches your home. Our design team led by our Founder and Creative Director, Sunita Charya (Simi), brainstorm many design ideas, colour palettes to bring these aesthetic designs to life.
The making of a quilt starts with the washing of the cotton cloth.
Once dry, the cloth is cut into various measurements based on product requirements and goes into printing.
After printed, a cover or shell of the quilt is stitched by joining upper and lower layers of the cloth, and the quilt moves to the next step, cotton filling –
After the white gold is filled, the women artisans do takai (hand stitching). Believe me, this is one of the most difficult yet satisfying steps in the process. Our Didis do takai and craft these masterpieces with love and affection while sharing the laughter and keeping the surrounding light. They make the process look so easy with beautiful smiles on their faces.
After takai, the quilt goes to finishing and quality checks. After completing these steps, the quilt is packed in beautiful eco-friendly bags and shipped to the buyers. These handcrafted pieces with beautiful motifs and vibrant colours not only give a soft and cosy feel to your bedrooms but add an element of royalty.
